Jake Ramsey
Indiana University - Kelley School of Business | Class of 2022
I have been fascinated by the markets since the age of 11 when I overhead my parents talking about the concept of how “Money makes money.” Since then, I have actively traded and learned the financial markets present difficult decisions that require research to make the right trade. Just as my business mentor taught me throughout my high school career to give back, now I want to help those who need guidance of their own.
I graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in 2022; yet remain involved on campus as I serve as an advisor to the Endowment Consulting & Management Group, a student-run organization that trades real money to help support scholarships with the profit it achieves. During my time at the university, I co-founded its Options/Derivatives Fund as I believed it was critical to understand these markets in an ever-developing world. In this group, students have access to experienced mentors like Tom Sosnoff (Founder of Thinkorswim & TastyTrade) and Felix Frey (Founder of Options Geek). These mentors personally taught me how to approach trading and risk-analysis within the financial markets and I am forever grateful for this opportunity.
Upon graduation, I joined bp’s Trading & Shipping business where I have experience as a Market Risk Analyst in its natural gas & crude trading teams. My role involves researching drivers of energy prices ranging from production, storage, pipelines, weather, historical trends, geopolitics, and a multitude of other energy-driven news while forming my own opinion on future trades. While my job allows me to grow in the commodities space, I remain passionate about our equity markets.
With millions of young professionals entering the workplace, I want to share my knowledge with a generation of people who are in the position to benefit greatly from the current state of the market. Investing young can change your life entirely if you make the proper financial decisions. I am currently studying for my Doctor of Pharmacy at Butler University. As a future healthcare worker, helping people out and giving advice is my number one passion. Seeing people succeed and/or benefit is the most rewarding thing about this. I recognize the importance of making smart decisions and paying attention to detail because the decisions I make will have the power to change people’s lives. Therefore, I take my stock advice and investing techniques just as seriously. I recognize the high stakes in recommending where people should put their money, just as I recognize the importance of filling drug prescriptions correctly. Being a pharmacist requires great attention to detail and leaves little to no room for error. While working at Blue Diamond Investing, I like to integrate the same detail-oriented mindset.
For my experience in the financial markets, I have been interested about investing since high school but began seriously researching when I went to college. I was immediately hooked once I recognized how powerful of a wealth-creating tool the stock market can be. Through many hours a week of reading, listening to expert opinions, and of course, actively investing, I believe I have learned how to effectively research a company and attribute economic trends toward its movements.

Growing up, the stock market always seemed to be something too confusing for a young person to understand. I felt the stock market was only for folks who were older, wiser, and much richer than someone my age. Despite this intimidation, I still felt drawn to the allure of making money through investing. As I grew older, I also felt the frustration of seeing my money sit in a bank account, while my peers were not only saving money, but growing it as well. This is just one of many reasons why I am so passionate about helping young people like myself; not only to expand their knowledge of the market, but also to help connect people in our generation who feel the same excitement about investing.
I’m currently a junior studying Electrical Engineering with
minors in Economics and Entrepreneurship at Purdue University. My passion for
innovation runs side by side with my passion for business and entrepreneurship.
As an account manager for Blue Diamond, it is my goal to give as many people
access to resources that can provide clarity and confidence throughout one’s
investment journey. I know how much of a difference Blue Diamond Investing can
make as I have seen my own portfolio grow tremendously when working with the
founders. My main goal is to now help others find our services and teach them
how investing young can change their life if done correctly.
